Position Description

Our Community Health Center in Baltimore is searching for a Clinical Manager. The Clinical Manager is responsible and accountable for the health centers clinical operations and programs. The Clinical Manager also works cross-organizationally and participates in organization committees and other groups as assigned. The CM is responsible for ensuring high quality, evidence based patient care for their patient population through specialty and primary care home model in an effective and efficient manner. Utilizing reporting tools and tracking as well as observation, the CM monitors patient volumes, quality of care, and performance of staff to identify areas for improvement and enact changes to achieve that improvement as appropriate. The CM is the functional authority for nursing and medical assistant duties, monitoring their practice and ensuring personnel are appropriately trained and qualified for their duties and that they are performing their care in accordance with standards and policies for their profession and the organization. As a clinical nurse, the CM is capable of performing the duties of the Charge and Clinical Care nurses in case staffing needs warrant. Communication skills are required to persuade or gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas. Responsibility exists to ensure that internal customers are satisfied with service.

Required Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing as well as in-depth specialized training directly related to work being performed.

Preferred Education: MSN preferred

Required Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of nursing or compact state as a Registered Nurse. Required: Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider card) (BLS-HCP) or the American Red Cross (CPR-AED for Healthcare Provider card) by date of hire.

Preferred Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Two years of demonstrated supervisory experience Minimum of three years clinical experience in acute care or ambulatory care setting

Preferred Experience: Community Health Center or large PCMH practice

Supervisory Responsibilities: Charge Nurses and/or Clinical Nurses, depending on staffing model of the center Medical Assistants, depending on staffing model of the center Indirect: All clinical personnel
