Dear School Nurse,

We are seeking school nurses to participate in a study to explore their experiences of caring for students with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the State of Maryland (MD) schools. This research study will allow for better understanding of the needs of school nurses in providing diabetes care to students in school. A confidential online survey is used to assess school nurses’ knowledge of T1D and confidence with diabetes technology. You will be asked to provide some basic demographic information such as age, gender, number of years of employment, the geographic region of your school, and characteristics of the school in which you are employed. Additionally, you will answer survey questions from two validated scales that assess T1D knowledge and confidence with diabetes devices.

To participate in this study, you must be over the age of 18, able to read English, and have experience as a school nurse who has cared for children with type 1 diabetes. Completion of this survey will take no more than 20 minutes.

Those who complete the online survey will be entered into a drawing for a raffle to win one of the following: one $100, one $50 or one of two $25 e-gift cards. The gift card will be distributed via email to those randomly selected who entered their email address into the gift card drawing link.

The survey can be accessed using this link:  School Nurse Diabetes Study
